Ship High-Pressure Cleaning
Project Introduction
After years of navigation, large ships usually get a thick layer of dirt scales on the hull shell. The scales are formed by composition of algae, shellfish, or other attachments, which are quite compact and hard. In addition, after many years of operation, the ships’ coating inevitably gets extensive corrosion. To ensure the stable navigation of the ships and extend their service lifetime, when conducting major repairs on large ships, it is generally required to descale the dirt layer and old paint, and then apply the new coating.
In the early days, workers manually remove the compact and extensive scale layer, which costs time and high labor intensity. A faster and high-quality solution is to use ultra-high-pressure water jet to clean the surface of ships. The high-pressure pump increases water pressure to 40~250 MPa. The flow rate of a single nozzle is approximately 20~39 L/min.
